Adirondacks, NY: We were very surprised to see this egret in a marsh along a trail leading to Pharaoh Lake. The species normally isn't found in this area. We spent a good half hour watching and marveling at our good luck. Unfortunately, I didn't have a long lens so this is a cropped and somewhat blurry photo.
